Mira Veikley Cabrera is a visual artist, designer, educator, and clothing historian.

Her visual work includes various media, but centers mostly on watercolor and oil painting, with a special emphasis on the exploration of color, process and the natural world. She sells her art through her company Growing In Process.

As a costume designer Mira has worked at major venues all over New York City, including American Ballet Theater, The Public Theater, Playwrights Horizons, Lincoln Center, and Second Stage Theatre. Her work has been seen on stage, on film, and in print.

Mira was in residence at Middlebury College from 2015-2022. There she taught classes in theatrical costume, fashion history, and creativity, as well as designed Theatre Department productions. In 2015, Mira also established the Middlebury College Antique Clothing Collection, which contains over 400 antique items of clothing ranging in date from 1830 to 1930. The collection is now used for teaching, exhibition, and research.

Mira has a BS from Cornell University, an MFA from New York University, and is a member of USA Local 829, the union for theatrical designers.

When she is not in the classroom or her studio, Mira enjoys hiking the Green Mountains with her two young sons, while learning about wild edible foraging and natural pigments.
